I run and I love to run. But Saturdays are different for me. Saturday’s are my “lets see what I got” days.

Sometimes all you need is a bench for a good workout. Follow this series and you will get a little cardio blast and an arm burn all in one!
You all know by now how much I love a treadmill workout. I have gotten the question a lot… do you really #runeveryday ?
The answer is YES, with the exception of Sundays. I always try and take off on Sunday’s and give my legs and my mind a break from working out. After all, it is my job so its healthy to take some time away for that and reset.
Group fitness defiantly holds a very close place in my heart. I don’t just say that because its my full time job … well, maybe I do… BUT… I also think it is one amazing way to get a killer workout in for many different reasons.
A lot of people say they are scared or intimidated by Group Fitness. My response to that… if some place or someone makes you feel uncomfortable or like you are not welcomed – LEAVE. That place does not deserve YOU!
You have eaten the turkey, the mashed potatoes, the sweet potatoes, the corn pudding, the broccoli casserole, the pumpkin, apple and pecan pie… and then you had leftovers.
Well, dont feel bad about it- just grab a friend and get a workout in!
I met up with my girl Victoria Brown, a D.C. based Senior SoulCycle Instructor and we got our sweat on. We promise it will make your sweat session worth it and giver your body the serious detox it is craving after all those good eats!
Enjoy and don’t forget to share with me how it all goes!
A few of my favorite items on sale for Black Friday!
I get the question a lot… what do you do for a workout?
I love to run., spin and I enjoy yoga and barre. I also like to feel strong… or I should word it in a way that reads…
Do you ever walk out of your house with 5 bags in hand? Balancing your keys in one hand and your coffee in the other. Yup, thats me! Most times I look like I am leaving for a few days but in reality its just a couple of hours. Lets just say I like to be OVER-prepared. Sometimes this can become obsessive but I always like to feel like I have everything that is needed just “incase” I may need it.
I am typically going from class, to the gym, back to class, maybe a mid day coffee meeting and then back to class, possibly even an evening trip to the driving range (working on my golf game, yes still working…). I typically make a stop at home here and there but you get the idea.
The one bag I always make sure is packed to perfection is my gym bag. The gym is as place where I take that time for me. It’s the time I get to work on whatever I want to work on. I put my head phones on, listen to whatever music I feel like and just get lost in my own thoughts. With that said, everything that is packed in the gym bag is there for a reason. That bag has no “extras” or “unnecessaries”. It is packed with needed things and things that are personally important to me in order for me to have a productive time at the gym.
I often have people look at me and say “what is in that thing?”
Well here it goes 🙂 …
Back by popular demand … I am sharing another one of my favorite treadmill workouts. I know many of you have experienced the same love – hate feeling I have for these workouts.
I know they are hard.
I know they are awful.
I know they make your sweat A LOT!
I spend my life working out. This is my job and it is a passion of mine. I love starting my day with a sweat and getting myself moving. Ok, thats a small lie. Trust me, I do have mornings that I do not want to workout. Mornings where I don’t think I can find the motivation or just don’t feel like it. (This is not a lie.)
BUT… I push pass.
I know that thought can be temporary and if I just focus on the first five minutes of putting one foot in front of the other I will be in it and feel good about it.
Cardio is key for me, no doubt. But, I also believe toning is just as important. I hesitate to use the word “lifting” as I know that scares some of you away! Instead I am going to share some body weight exercises you can do anywhere. I suggest you get outside if you can, this time of year the weather is amazing and I always find this so refreshing.
Remember when it starts to get hard that is when you know its working. So get after it.
