This is one of those dresses I would see everyone in and I think I looked at it over 100 times on Amazon before actually purchasing it. It looked cute, but was it really cute in person? All color options where great, but which one did I need or really want? Where would I wear it? I decided enough with the questions, lets just make the purchase.

As you all know by now, I will not share anything on #kellyskloset that I do not stand 100% behind. So, I am going to be totally transparent about the process of how I came to loving this little, leather number. I will start by saying that I love ALL THINGS LEATHER but…this one I was not all for originally.
Things to remember not only just in the New Year but the entire year:
I am not a resolution girl… and the question, “where do you see yourself in a year… five years… ten years… ” really isnt one of my favorites. It’s just not my thing to try and plan that far out. It makes me anxious to be honest and I like to think that there is a plan in everything and to trust it. If I stick to my values it will turn out the way it should.
The sweater dress has been all the rage this winter. I have spotted it in every style, length, color… and to be honest… on pretty much every woman. Well done ladies! It’s the right choice. Honestly, every time I see someone wearing the good ol’ sweater dress I think… [looks great, bravo!]
This time of year is tough. The calander tells us it is fall… but in Baltimore it is still in the high 80’s. Even if you live some place that does not have these higher temperatures, it is still is that time of year that screams TRANSITION. So, as I shop… [ because, well that is what I love to do ] … I try to keep that word at the front of my brain. TRANSITION PIECES ONLY.
So, when I initially found this cute “thing” I am pictured in, it seemed like it was just as confused as to what it was made for as I was when I looked at it. Summer or fall? Making it one of the many, perfect transition pieces. This half romper, half maxi dress seems to be all the rage and one that you can find a use for in both the summer and fall which makes me ALL IN!
Things to keep in mind:
- Add a jean jacket. Thats always my motto these days but when temps. drop it makes everything transition perfectly.
- Wear this with booties or wedges to match the look you are going for.
SOME THAT COULD WORK THAT I FOUND
- Lastly, whichever look you go for, keep in mind a more neutral pallet is best. Bright colors scream summer so when you stay more neutral its easier to transition.
Below are a few I found that will also be added to my closet!

Another Maxi Romper – The Nordstrom Sale: Wrap Dress Edition
In honor of all the talk about the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale I decided I would acknowledge it. Acknowledge it in a bit of a different way… because honestly, lord knows I cannot purchase much more for the summer. Simply because I am running out of room in my closet!
So, I decided to, once again, go shopping in my closet for one of my all time favorite dresses that I actually purchased during LAST years Anniversary Sale! I did the research and tried to see if they had it available this year and that was a big fat NO. BUT, they had a ton of very similar styles and ones that I think, personally, are even better then the one I have on (but, don’t worry, I am using my self control to not purchase).
With all of that said, I put together a shopping list of some ADORABLE wrap dresses from Nordstrom. The best part, they are all on MAJOR SALE. Not to mention this trend looks good on everyone aaaannnnddd I am hesitate to call it a trend because I think its a classic look.
Happy Nordstrom Shopping 🙂
Billabong Wrap Dress: I love color in the summer and this dress screams, ‘lets go to the beach’. It’s perfect for a friday night happy hour in the city or a beach cookout. UNDER $40.00!
A bit more conservative Wrap Dress: To start, it’s 40% off and be sure to size one size down because it does run a little big. This one hits the top of your knee so you can get away with styling it in a more business casual look. Personally, I love all the color options and designs that it comes in.
Island Wrap mini denim dress: Also, very similar to the style I am wearing. I love denim in the summer! It’s another one that is under $40.00 I at that price this one will go quickly!
Peppermint Striped Wrap Dress: OBSESSED. The stripes, the bow, the entire thing. I love it all + its UNDER $50.00!
A more formal Wrap Dress: One you can get away with for a wedding or a nicer event. The light blue coloring is perfect for the summer temps and the spaghetti straps allows this look to feel light and breezy.

This blog post came to me pretty quickly. As I write these post I learn from them, but I also have to constantly remind myself to write about things I look for and want to read about in my own time. For instance, I love seeing how other people style different things. Style is a unique thing and I love how you can start with one basic piece of clothing and style it so many different ways just by changing the smallest things. For instance, this mid length black dress. Simple. Everyone seems to have something like this in their closet. And the best part is it is so easy to wear during these hot summer days.
Hot sun, tan skin, no jacket needed… sounds good to me! I do love the summer… BUT it is a real thing that it gets COLD here in Baltimore and even though we like to say we have all four season here it does seem like winter is rolling in fast this year. I have finally packed away all of the shorts and flip flops and my boots stash has made it to the front of the closet.
I love shoes any time of the year, but, one of my favorite looks this time of year is the over the knee boot, better known as the OTK Boot. I will be blunt with you..the reason I love the OTK boot so much is because I think they look stylish on everyone!
Now, you have to know how to style them of course but, my favorite way to style them is with a dress or a skirt. I prefer to show a little leg when styling them. BUT, you always have the option to pair them with jeans or leggings and they are the perfect transition piece to take you from fall to winter.
Below I pair them with a long sleeve dress (that is under $25.00) and an oversized blanket scarf. This dress is great, it’s super soft material, it’s affordable, it comes in a few other colors and IT HAS POCKETS! Wear it with a pair of OTK boots like I have or if it is a really cold pair it with a pair of jeans or leggings.
So, go get yourself some cute OTK Boots and before you know it, it will be warm again!
XOXO. Kel
