Things to Remember in 2020

Things to remember not only just in the New Year but the entire year:

I am not a resolution girl… and the question, “where do you see yourself in a year… five years… ten years… ” really isnt one of my favorites.  It’s just not my thing to try and plan that far out. It makes me anxious to be honest and I like to think that there is a plan in everything and to trust it. If I stick to my values it will turn out the way it should.

With that said, I thought I would share with you some things I am keeping in mind as the new year begins. Some things I like to constantly remind myself of to apply in life… not only at the start of a new year, but all year long. Remember, nobody is perfect but we can all strive to be our best self.

1. Surround yourself with good people: 

It’s not about the quantity of people in your life. I like to think that it is more about the quality of people in your life. Find yourself some good people and stick by them. Lean on them, learn from them, laugh with them, cry with them, support them and always remember to tell them how much they mean to you. Good, loyal friends are not always easy to find… but find them and be an even better friend back.

2. SWEAT:

Just sweat. It doesnt have to be everyday. It doesnt have to be RUNNING 🙂

Find what gets you going and find time to SWEAT. Release the things out of your body that we don’t need and give your body what it craves. We are humans and we are meant to move. Give this to yourself.

3. Pick something you want to be better at, and do it and do it well:

Maybe this is what some people call goals. I don’t know to be honest… BUT when you find something you like and you have interest in, put your head down and crush it. Recently for me this is golf. I love it, it challenges me and I want to be really good at it. It is something that is new, yes and I have A LOT of work to do… but the things that challenge us help us grow in more ways then one.

4. Live in a place you love:

We spend a lot of time in our homes. Yes, you go to work and everyone has busy lives… but always have a place that you LOVE to come back to. Build a place that you can call your own and that expresses who YOU are. Love where you live and if you don’t, change that. This is the place that builds the energy you will have when you wake up in the morning and when you lay down at night. It sets the tone and if you don’t LOVE it, do what you need to do to change that.

5. Don’t worry about things we can’t control or until they happen:

This is something my Dad has always taught me. He has said it to me since I was young and still reminds me of it today.  I know I have a lot of work to do with this one but it is a simple reminder. It goes back to believing that everything will work out the way it should, we just have to trust it and realize that most times worrying about it wont do us any good. I know that it is way easier said then done, but it is an amazing reminder that I remind myself of everyday.

Well, there you have it. A few reminders for the new year but also for all year long.

Remember to keep it simple… just be your best. It may be different from day to day, but always make that something you strive for.
