I have received a lot of request to share my diet secrets. And I am so hesitant to use that word “diet”! The question is always what do I eat?

Well, the honest truth is, I am not a nutritionist and I do not intend to be one. BUT, more importantly, I am a big believer in balance and making sure the word DIET is not part of my vocabulary. Making sure that yes, I am putting good fuel in my body but that I am also working my butt off in the gym or wherever to get my sweat on so I can also reward myself with things that I like…or maybe LOVE.

Now, with that said I am constantly looking for good mid day snacks to tackle the hunger spells and can be used as good fuel in-between classes. So, I thought I would share… and see how you guys like it. It is super simple and one that ANYONE can do.

WHAT YOU NEED:
  • Pick out some of your favorite crisp veggies.

I change it up between carrots, peppers (red, yellow and green), cucumbers, broccoli, cherry tomatoes. The list could go on, but it is your pick!

  • Tzatziki Dip (this dip can change from humus or some other dip if you do not like Tzatziki, but I highly recommend it)

My favorite is the Cedars Tzatziki Dip. I find it in my local grocery store. It’s so YUMMY!

Healthy Snack preperation

So, here is my hint and honestly the second most important part to making sure good eats get in your body! If you are like me, you come home from a long day and at that point you are starving. To avoid grabbing the bag of potato chips that feel easy to munch on I try to make the healthy snack just as easily available. So, I make sure I have all the veggies chopped up in a tupperware container right in the fridge. I place them front and center so when I open the fridge they are basically screaming at me to eat them!  I place the Tzatziki dip right next to it and wohoooo, our snack is ready!  A fresh, healthy snack ready to eat and the best part. You avoid being HANGRY (because we know how bad that can get)!

Enjoy! XOXO. Kel
